Before the pandemic, remote diagnosis was not commonly accepted. Now, with the advent of digitalization, telemedicine can be used to support remote consultations between doctors and patients. The use of telemedicine is growing dramatically.
Siemens Healthineers is also working on a solution known as ""Virtual Visit"" that not only facilitates convenient audio and video conversations between healthcare professionals and patients, but is also tailored to the healthcare sector and can exchange information with existing IT systems.

eHealth Virtual Visit uses Vidyo as 3rd party application for video chat functionality. Vidyo is HIPAA compliant (https://www.vidyo.com/hipaa).
Prerequisites include: Internet connection to clinical network, DICOM compliance, meeting of minimum hardware requirements, and adherence to local data privacy regulations.
This function is still under development and therefore currently not commercially available. Its future availability cannot be guaranteed.
