Success factors and hurdles in setting up screening programs

About this session

Until last year, there was only one established imaging screening program in Europe: mammography for breast cancer. Now there are two more being implemented: CT for lung cancer, and MRI and laboratory tests for prostate cancer. In addition, breast cancer screening is the subject of ongoing discussions, both in terms of increased personalization and digitalization.

In this panel discussion, experts will provide an overview of the current status of these three screening programs, their success factors and hurdles, and their respective use of AI.

Discussion:

  • How much standardization is necessary? How much personalization is feasible?
  • Is modern screening still conceivable without the use of AI?
  • Continuous technological advancement: A blessing or a curse for screening programs?
