Sarah Schenck on 
“The future of 
healthcare is 
virtual”

Sarah Schenck, Executive Director, Center for Virtual Health of ChristianaCare, believes it was due to a change in perspective with patients becoming consumers: “You have to invite disruption, it makes us all better.” She stressed that jobs won’t be replaced by technology, but the doctors and systems that embrace it will replace those that don’t. Virtual care does not mean video calls with your doctor but asynchronous care; “technology is just a tool that is changing business models to meet patients where they are.”
