About this session
High-quality MRI images are essential for any diagnostic pathway for prostate cancer, as they play a critical role in ensuring accurate detection and guiding subsequent management decisions. However, despite the adoption of PI-RADS version 2.1 technical standards, significant variability in image quality remains in routine clinical practice. PI-QUAL is a scoring system designed to assess the quality of prostate MRI images and help determine whether a repeat examination is warranted. In this presentation, Dr. Giganti discusses the updated version of the PI-QUAL score (PI-QUAL v2), emphasising the importance of achieving optimal diagnostic image quality from both technical and clinical perspectives.
