About this session
Climate change poses the greatest threat to human health in the 21st century. It is estimated that the health care sector accounts for nearly 5% of total global CO2 emissions, with medical imaging representing an energy-intensive contributor. Radiology can make a significant contribution to tackling this challenge. Together with our guests Prof. Dr. Elmar Merkle of University Hospital Basel, we will highlight what can be done to reduce carbon footprint and ensure a sustainable future in radiology. In this session, we will discuss some concrete steps that one could take, an outlook for the future, and why embracing sustainable radiology solutions for a better tomorrow is a journey worth embarking on today.
