Differential Diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease

About this session

This session provides an overview of how MRI and PET help differentiate Alzheimer’s disease from other dementias, highlighting key imaging patterns, common pitfalls, characteristic atrophy and metabolic signatures, and the use of different tracers to strengthen diagnostic confidence in clinical practice.

Differential Diagnosis of Alzheimer's in MRI

  • This case-based session will explore how MRI helps differentiate Alzheimer’s disease from other common forms of dementia. Participants will learn about key imaging patterns and pitfalls and learn how to recognize characteristic atrophy patterns to increase diagnostic confidence in clinical routine.

Differential Diagnosis of Alzheimer's in PET

  • This case-based session will explore how PET helps distinguish Alzheimer’s disease from other neurodegenerative disorders by using different tracers and the identification of characteristic metabolic patterns.
