EUSOBI 2026

In the fight against breast cancer, we have achieved a lot. However, challenges remain: 1 in 8 breast cancers is still missed¹, over one third of eligible women do not attend breast screening, even in high-income countries², and 50% of those receiving annual mammograms experience false-positive results³. These challenges are further compounded by a growing radiologist shortage⁴ and the fact that breast density — one of the strongest independent risk factors — continues to limit the sensitivity of standard mammography.

A personalized approach to breast cancer screening and diagnosis is essential. Women with dense breasts in particular, require accurate supplementary imaging to ensure cancers are not overlooked. Equally important is a patient-centered care experience: when women feel informed, comfortable, and confident in their screening journey, attendance rates improve — and earlier detection saves lives.

Our ambition is to be your partner in making this a reality. At this year’s European Society of Breast Imaging, we showcased innovations designed to personalize and elevate breast cancer screening and diagnosis:

• An integrated Breast Cancer Pathway - combining multimodal imaging, like contrast-enhanced mammography, and AI-powered technologies to support precise, personalized diagnostics across screening, diagnosis, and intervention
• 40% faster and 2x higher resolution MRI with AI-powered reconstruction⁵, expanding the reach of supplementary screening where it is needed most
• Next-generation ultrasound to diagnose and biopsy breast malignancies that may otherwise go undetected
• Personalized Patient Communication — inform, engage, and guide women along every step of their screening journey, helping to reduce anxiety and improve attendance

Together, these technologies and patient-centered tools enable a more individualized, density-aware diagnostic pathway — and help create a screening experience that puts patients first.

See you again next year!
